17 Spooky Halloween Rice Krispie Treats (Ghosts, Spiders, Pumpkins & More)

Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispies were one of my favorite cereals growing up, but it’s only as an adult that I’ve realized how criminally underused they are as a Halloween dessert… an EASY no-bake dessert at that.

Halloween RICE KRISPIE TREATS

Everyone’s out here doing cupcakes and cookies (equally tasty, of course!), but a Rice Krispie treat is genuinely the perfect blank canvas: sturdy enough to shape into a ghost, a spider, or a full pumpkin patch, and it takes about fifteen minutes total.

I rounded up 17 of my favorite Halloween takes on the classic, some shaped, some just cleverly colored and sprinkled, so you’ve got options whether you’re short on time or want to actually commit to the bit.

Let’s get into it.

1. Mummy Rice Krispie Treats

Classic Rice Krispie treats topped with candy eyes and a messy white chocolate drizzle for the mummy bandage effect. Just 20 minutes total, and it’s easy enough for kids to help decorate.

2. Halloween M&M Rice Krispie Treats

Loaded with Halloween M&M’s, candy corn, and mini pretzels for a sweet-and-salty mix, then finished with a green candy drizzle. Genuinely easy to make gluten-free too; just swap in GF Rice Krispies and check your candy brands.

3. Monster Rice Krispy Squares

Green food coloring mixed right into the marshmallow base gives these their monster-green color, then a dark chocolate dip and edible candy eyes finish the look. Genuinely flexible too, swap the green for purple, orange, or even blue to riff on a completely different monster.

4. Pumpkin-Shaped Rice Krispie Treats

Orange gel food coloring tints the classic base, then the mixture is hand-shaped into little pumpkins with a pretzel rod stem and a green Airhead (or fondant, for a more grown-up finish) twisted into a vine. No pumpkin flavor here, just the shape, though a pinch of pumpkin pie spice stirred into the marshmallow mix would add it if you wanted.

5. Spider Web Rice Krispies Treats

Chocolate chips melt right into the marshmallow base for a chocolatey twist on the classic, then a piped white chocolate spider web finishes each square. The web pattern takes a little practice (four lines out from a corner, then swooping connector lines), but it’s a genuinely striking effect for very little extra effort.

6. Tombstone Rice Krispie Treats

Cocoa Rice Krispies and a swirl of Nutella give these a naturally dark, chocolatey base, hand-molded into little headstone shapes with a flat bottom so they stand upright. Finish with “RIP” piped on in melted white chocolate, then line them up on a tray for an easy mini graveyard scene; candy corn pumpkins scattered around work nicely too.

7. Monster Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

The easiest possible base here: store-bought Rice Krispie treats dipped in colorful melted candy melts and topped with candy eyes, no actual cooking at all. Just three ingredients and genuinely a craft project more than a recipe, great if you want kids doing most of the “cooking” themselves.

8. Spider Rice Krispie Treats

Dark chocolate dipped squares get candy eyes pressed on first, then eight piped chocolate legs added once that layer sets, genuinely reads as a spider rather than an abstract shape. Works with homemade or store-bought Rice Krispie treats as the base, so it’s flexible depending on how much time you’ve got.

9. Ghost Krispie Treats

A ghost-shaped cookie cutter turns the classic base into a proper ghost silhouette, then one side gets dipped in white chocolate with three mini chocolate chips pressed in for the face. Genuinely easy to turn into pops too; just insert a popsicle stick while the treats are still warm.

10. Black Cat Rice Krispie Treats

Cocoa Krispies plus black gel food coloring gets you a genuinely deep black base (regular Rice Krispies just turn dull gray), then a cat-shaped cutter, candy eyes, and a piped pink nose and whiskers finish the look. A nice one for anyone who wants a shape beyond the usual pumpkins and ghosts.

11. Rice Krispie Brains

Genuinely just four ingredients: red food coloring tints the base pink, then a butter knife carves a center groove, and a fine paintbrush adds painted-on “veins” for a properly gory finish. No cutter or molding needed, just hand-shaped ovals, making this one of the easiest gross-out options on the list.

12. Oreo Stuffed Halloween Rice Krispie Treats

A layer of Halloween Oreos gets sandwiched right in the middle of the Rice Krispie mixture, so every bite has a hidden cookie surprise, then a dark chocolate topping with sprinkles and candy eyes finishes it off. A great pick if you want something a little more indulgent than the average bar, and it’s a genuine crowd-size batch at 24 squares.

13. Eyeball Rice Krispie Treats

Rice Krispie treats get rolled into balls rather than pressed into a pan, then topped with black-and-white fondant circles and a piped green candy ring for a genuinely convincing eyeball look. The most hands-on recipe on this list, fondant rolling and cutting included, but it makes for a striking, not-too-scary treat that’s fine for younger kids too.

14. Zombie Rice Krispie Cones

Ice cream cones get stuffed and topped with Rice Krispie treat mixture shaped into little zombie heads, then dipped in green candy melts with chocolate chip “X” eyes and pink sprinkle cheeks. A cute rather than creepy take on zombies, genuinely kid-friendly, and easy to wrap individually as a trick-or-treat-style handout.

15. Peanut Butter Spider Rice Krispies Treats

A peanut butter Rice Krispie base gets topped with chocolate, then each square is turned into a spider with a mini Reese’s cup body, piped chocolate legs, and candy eyes. Contains peanuts, though the recipe notes a Sun Butter and sunflower-seed-cup swap if you need a nut-free version.

16. Candy Corn Rice Krispie Treats

Built in layers inside a springform pan, yellow, then orange, then plain in the center, then sliced into triangles so each piece actually looks like a mini candy corn. More hands-on than most on this list (there’s real color-blending and layering involved), but the payoff is a genuinely clever, edible replica of the classic candy.

17. Chocolate-Covered Rice Krispies Bat Treats

Brown butter gives the base a genuinely nutty, elevated flavor most Rice Krispie treats don’t bother with, then it’s cut into circles, dipped in chocolate, and turned into bats using broken Oreo halves for wings and candy eyes on top. A little more technique is involved (browning butter, working with two forks for dipping), but the flavor payoff is real.
