Nobody has ever looked at an empty toilet paper roll and thought “yes, this is my next home decor moment”, and yet here we are!
And I know the words alone conjure a specific image, a slightly wonky school project, some poster paint, a well-meaning but ultimately underwhelming result sitting on the kitchen table while it dries.
Not exactly the vibe for a home decor moment.

But some seriously creative people across the internet have been doing remarkable things with cardboard tubes for years now, and the results are genuinely, surprisingly good.
I was previously a bit of a skeptic when it came to toilet paper roll crafts, but when I thought about it, some of the very best at-home crafts, especially the ones you can do with the kids, use the simplest of repurposed materials, so not only do they look awesome and cost you absolutely nothing, but you’re keeping a few more cardboard tubes out of the trash in the process.
